Colour Before DaylightPosted by Lee (Fort Frances Ontario, Canada) on 18 February 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. The saying goes something like....Red sky in morning-Sailors take warning. This shot was taken approx 1/2 hr before the sun broke the horizon. Thank you for visiting my site. I consider myself to be lucky living where I do. Everyday I wake up to a wealth of interesting visual scenarios. Most of my pictures are Wildlife and Nature taken from around the area. The area specifically being Fort Frances Ontario on beautiful Rainy Lake. Feel free to comment on what you see. I look forward to hearing from you. If you like what you see, please rate it. Tony Duque from Raleigh, United StatesThat's an absolutely wonderful shot, Lee!. I call such a sunrise a bona fide flamer, and (by my experience, anyway) they're pretty rare. Your timing was perfect... I'd say you caught that show at its peak of color. Excellent composition and balance. Thanks for sharing your good fortune and skill!! 18 Feb 2009 6:03pm @Tony Duque: Thank you for the compliment. You are right, these colours are not very common. @Eleftheria: Thanks for dropping by. vu@granby - Wolfgang from Granby, Québec, CanadaFrom experience I can say the sailor's saying is right. Thank you. Judy from Brooksville-Florida,, United StatesI've looked at the photos in your portfolio and they are ALL terrific; your wildlife/animal shots are superb, as is this glorious sunset. My general comment on all of them is that the amnous3 across the top is a distraction, where your signature on each one is not. I hope you don't mind my saying so. PS: If you're concerned about people printing off your work, note that AM3 compresses photos to 800 pixels in width; that's the largest I post. Height can be anything a vertical shot requires. 20 Feb 2009 12:31pm @Judy: Thank you for the wonderful word of encouragement. I agree that the watermark is a distraction. I will take it into consideration. Thank you and please visit and comment often. Scott Schilling from San Martin, United StatesLee, this is just beautiful color at dawn - great shot - your photographs are beautiful! 22 Feb 2009 8:44pm @Scott Schilling: You're to kind. Thank you |
