Okay, I asked you all Here........Posted by Lee (Fort Frances Ontario, Canada) on 22 February 2009 in Animal & Insect. Do you know how hard it is to get a head on shot of a porcupine, especially when you're by yourself. They keep turning their backs to you. They do not run to get away. They just turn their backs and expose their quills. I consider myself to be lucky capturing this animal in such a pose. Thank you for visiting my site. I consider myself to be lucky living where I do. Everyday I wake up to a wealth of interesting visual scenarios. Most of my pictures are Wildlife and Nature taken from around the area. The area specifically being Fort Frances Ontario on beautiful Rainy Lake. Feel free to comment on what you see. I look forward to hearing from you. If you like what you see, please rate it. Better yet, bookmark the site and drop back often. I will be posting daily.

Denise from Perry, United StatesWow, what a rare photo you have caught, the closest I have seen to one of these is dead along the road and the kids took a few quills... Even that we considered really neat! 22 Feb 2009 12:33pm @Denise: We do see to many of these creatures killed by automobiles. It's unfortunate. I felt great to see this guy crossing a field in the daylight. @Eleftheria: Thank you. Elena Kotrotsou from Drossia, GreeceOh! Don from spokane, United StatesThis is a fine close up and obviously a unique one! Just this week a friend was relating a dog-sitting adventure when his friend's dogs took on a porcupine and his trip to the vet to have them removed in the middle of the night! These animals are nothing to mess around with! 22 Feb 2009 2:30pm @Don: I can relate to your friend's experience. On 2 different occasions, I've needed to take dogs in for treatment and removal of quills. They are very sharp and have barbs on the end. Not a cheap operation. @Veronelle: Thank you, please visit again. The Big Guy from Regina, CanadaGreat shot Lee. You're right, I've seen them many times but never from that angle.
