Fairy Dust

Posted by Lee (Fort Frances Ontario, Canada) on 4 March 2009 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

At night while we lay sleeping in our beds all snuggled and warm, there's a magic happening outside. The air temperature is cold, very cold. The moisture level in the air is high. Moisture in the air turns to crystals and settles on anything not moving. It collects and forms a fine dust known as hoar frost or rime. In the morning we awake to everything looking frosty white and magical. As the wind comes to life, little wisps of snow crystals start falling from the branches. It's like Fairy Dust. Watching it release and fall is very satisfying and magical. Capturing it with a camera is well..........You tell me.
