Lava CloudsPosted by Lee (Fort Frances Ontario, Canada) on 9 March 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. It is time for some colour again. This shot is from 2 years ago. It is looking east over Lake Superior from Mission Marsh. This was a great spot for such vistas. The colour that morning was so intense. It only lasted a few moments before changing to normal subtle shades of magenta and yellow. Thank you for visiting my site. I consider myself to be lucky living where I do. Everyday I wake up to a wealth of interesting visual scenarios. Most of my pictures are Wildlife and Nature taken from around the area. The area specifically being Fort Frances Ontario on beautiful Rainy Lake. Feel free to comment on what you see. I look forward to hearing from you. If you like what you see, please rate it. Better yet, bookmark the site and drop back often. I will be posting daily.

The fact that such spectacles are so short lived is one of the big draws for me... wanting to never miss a minute because that's often all the time you're given to experience the grandeur of a sunrise. That is simply incredible! Great camera work capturing them. I also like how you balanced the bright red against the rich blue. Very pleasing effect! 9 Mar 2009 10:07pm @Jen: Jen, this is actually how the sky looked. I know I adjusted levels a bit in this one and a little sharpening, that's all.
