I Can Hardly Wait for Summer

I thought a little colour was needed.
It has been a long winter. I am so looking forward to spring and summer. I took a little drive today. Every thing is brown and dirty. Even the snow is drab looking. Heard some song birds, I can hardly wait to get out and start photgraphing them. Each day more and more will show up. The courtships and territory establishment will start.
We even noticed the tulips are budding through the ground. The pussy willows are abundant right now. Some trees almost have buds on them. And most of all, the thermometer says plus 10-15, and not minus 20-30 degrees.
Thank you for visiting my site. I consider myself to be lucky living where I do. Everyday I wake up to a wealth of interesting visual scenarios. Most of my pictures are Wildlife and Nature taken from around the area. The area specifically being Fort Frances Ontario on beautiful Rainy Lake. Feel free to comment on what you see. Beautful shot, yes, nice colors. No snow here anymore, even though it is stil cold. The trees are beginning to bloom, we have a cherry in the front yard. We actually saw a few bees this weekend!

I can't agree with you more, colour is definately needed, it is very drab looking out...but the bright side more and more colour to come. Excellent picture..you're going to have to get me a camera like that. :)

Do you still have much snow on the ground over your way? Ours is nearly gone in most areas.
Funny you should mention how dirty and brown everything is - I was just thinking about how the beginning of spring is actually rather drab because it IS dirty and brown.

@Kathe: The fields still have snow in them. Snow banks are still around, just not as high as they were. The lakes still have ice on them. Water running every where. Two weeks from now will be completly different.

Lee, if I could send some more sun rays your way, I would....I will try mentally :) maybe it will help speed things along :)...I have lived in Rochester, NY at lake Ontario and I remember how frustrating it can be to see nothing but dirty brown when everyone else is talking about how green things have become. :) Lovely shot by the way! did you dig it out of the archives?

@Marion: I'll accept all sunshine and happiness sent my way. In two weeks time there will be plenty of colour and activity happening. I just have to be patient. And yes, this shot was dug out of the archives. I did see a butterfly on Saturday. I could not get a shot of it though.

A fine close up image. Our freaky snow storm of yesterday morning has all but disappeared by today. We
got 10 inches in some places - 4 where I llve.

@Don: Thanks Don. We will probably get one more freakky storm yet also. We always do. I hope it's sooner than later though. It was the end of April when it snowed last year. Killed an awful lot of bird nests.
