Looking For Love

Yellow bird, high up in the willow tree.
Yellow bird, sitting pretty as can be.
You come here each spring hoping the food is plentiful and the weather is warm.
Calling all day long looking for a new mate.
Cause you're wanting to raise a new generation of Yellow Warblers.
Hoping to rear and protect them from all harm.
The Yellow Warbler is another summer visitor to our area. Like a lot of warblers, it feeds harmful leaf-eating caterpillars to its nestlings. The male seen here has bright red streaking on his chest.
The song of the Yellow Warbler is kinda like a swift warbling sweet-sweet, I'm-so-sweet.
These birds are common through out most of North America. I just think they have a great sound when you hear them call.
Usually you'll hear them long before you spot them. They are quite hard to spot among thick branches.

If these are hard to find, then you have a "real find" here! Lovely...I really like the colors of the image...I can see how these birds would be hard to spot in this kind of environment!
