Garter Snake.

Posted by Lee (Fort Frances Ontario, Canada) on 18 June 2009 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio.

Even the Garter Snake has a place in nature. Try as I might, I could not get a shot with the snakes tongue sticking out. I have to say, they have a very blank cold stare about them.
I was in his face to get this shot.

I love this, I have my own snake shot, he recently left his skin in our shed, about 5 feet long. I am very cautious when I step ino the shed and grab shovel or other tool. Not sure what I'll come out with ...

@Denise: I hope you don't have to use that shovel. That's a pretty big snake. What kind is it?
