Lee (Fort Frances Ontario, Canada) on 2 March 2009 in Cityscape & Urban and Portfolio.

It was a cold winter morning. The air temperature was lower than the water temperature. A heavy fog or mist was in the air. It just warranted a picture.

Thank you for visiting my site. I consider myself to be lucky living where I do. Everyday I wake up to a wealth of interesting visual scenarios. Most of my pictures are Wildlife and Nature taken from around the area. The area specifically being Fort Frances Ontario on beautiful Rainy Lake. Feel free to comment on what you see. How on earth did you do that???!!!! (Don't you ;ove it when someone asks that? :)

Wonderful capture.

2 Mar 2009 6:18am

@MontereyJohn: John, It really is no trick. The sun is just starting to break through over the horizon. Between ma and the bridge is water. The fog or mist rising from the water is obscuring the detail in the water. The tree and table are sitting on a little point of land in the water. It was one shot.
Thank you for the interest. I wonder what this would look like after a Lightroom application?

Denise from Perry, United States

Such a soft look. What is that structure in the background?

2 Mar 2009 11:14am

@Denise: The structure in the background is a rail bridge. It is a link between Canada and the U.S.A. That is U.S.A. soil on the other side of that bridge. Raineer Minnesota is the locality.

Wonderful shot, Lee! Love how the tree retained its stark crispness in contrast to the ethereal look of most to the picture. Really an amazing photograph! Thanks for sharing!!

Fabulous capture, Lee! The tree and the table just pop out of the fog. And the way the fog filters the sunlight is perfect.
