Wild Pussy Willows

Posted by Lee (Fort Frances Ontario, Canada) on 7 April 2009 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio.

It's Silly Tuesday again. I have to say it has been a very busy week for me. In my flury of chaos and mayham I almost forgot about Silly Tuesday. I did not sleep Sunday night,(couldn't find anything silly for today's post). Spent 4 hours ciphering and screening through images. I had nothing that was appealing. Yesterday I asked some good friends and relatives if they knew of any funny, or a silly theme I could use for today. Sadly to say no-one had any silly ideas. I figured you folks were probably getting tired of my silly and ridiculous antics anyway. However, in a last act of desperation I took a little drive yesterday afternoon, hoping to see the Snow Leprechauns. Apparently I was to late, the family has packed up and headed north for the summer.
Needles to say I was extremely disappointed. Who would have thought I could run out of ideas so quickly for Silly Tuesday.

If you've read this far - Thank you. Please let me know what you think of the
WILD PUSSY WILLOWS I discovered while on my drive. They were in a very low laying swamp, among some brush, cat tails and reeds. I guess spring has finally sprung here also. The Pussy Willows are finally out.

Have a great day!

Thank you for visiting my site. I consider myself to be lucky living where I do. Everyday I wake up to a wealth of interesting visual scenarios. By the way, don't worry about running out of silliness. You will always come up with something sooner or later. It doesn't matter if "silly Tuesday" needs a vacation for a while. I am sure it will be back at some point, don't worry - be happy!! (remember that song?) :) ... Besides, I believe we all enjoy all your photos, sillly or not! So keep clicking away and keep having fun!

Lee, Silly Tuesday is the toughest assignment that I have. I'm thinking about it all of the time, and am in the process of creating a Silly Tuesday folder. Your commitment to the cause and belonging to our tribe is what counts the most; you are "one of us"!!! Dynamite framing on this shot. Excellent selective focus inside of the frame.

7 Apr 2009 2:18pm

@john4jack: Thanks Jack. You are right. I am always thinking of the next shot. Sometimes even before the shot I'm working on is finished. Take care.

too bad about the silly tuesday, hope you can get an idea next week. Very interesting flower, are those specific for your area?

7 Apr 2009 5:45pm

@shallowregret: Thank you. I'm sorry I could not come up with a silly pic. Yes, these pussy willows grow wild in our area. I'm beginning to think they are only indigeneous to our area. Debbie from New Zealand says theirs look differently than ours.
