Lee (Fort Frances Ontario, Canada) on 26 May 2009 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio.

Welcome to Silly Tuesday.

I could just hear the bird on the left saying.....
"Well brought up, To bad you weren't".

Thank you for visiting my site. I consider myself to be lucky living where I do. Everyday I wake up to a wealth of interesting visual scenarios. Most of my pictures are Wildlife and Nature taken from around the area. The area specifically being Fort Frances Ontario on beautiful Rainy Lake. Feel free to comment on what you see. Tracy from La Selva Beach, United States

Ha Ha! Reminds me of my 18 year old Son! He thinks belching should be an Olympic sport!
I am wondering- We have some white pelicans here, though they look slightly different. (with some black on them) I will have to see if I can find them, because the little growth on the beak is interesting, and now I am wondering if the ones here have that too....

26 May 2009 1:57pm

@Tracy: I know some people like that also. Myself included 35 years ago. These birds have black wing tips only visible when in flight. The growth on the beak is only there for breeding season. It will disappear in about a month. It is only on the males.

Ca†≈ from Ouchy, Switzerland

Surprised and amused first, I'm asking what he is eating ?
Great expessions.
An other wonderfull shot ! Hum !

26 May 2009 2:25pm

@Ca†≈: Thank you. He is not eating anything. He just lifted his head, opened his mouth, and it looked like he was going to regurgitate something. I think this is the inside of his pouch and throat. He closed his mouth and resumed his pose with the other birds. The bird on the left seems as though it was not amusing. The whole scene just looked silly while it was happening. I couldn't resist.

Onlymehdi from Wayne, United States

wow, i love this, this is so nice, it looks like it is the same bird in 3 different places

26 May 2009 2:34pm

@Onlymehdi: Thank you. I can assure you it is not the same bird. It is three different birds. They flock together here in groups by the hundreds.

Absolutely amazing capture Lee! You captured them perfectly! It sure does look like the two at the front are talking to each other and the one at the back...... awwww poor thing! I always say to my kids: "chew before you swallow" (grin) But, it guess it's hard to do that if you don't have any teeth! haha
Awesome shot for any day but it fits so well for Silly Tuesday! Bravo! Love it!

26 May 2009 2:39pm

@Magda: Thank you very much.

Susan from Fort Lauderdale, FL, United States

Too funny, perfect for silly tuesday, and another magnificent shot from you!!! What are those "things", on the beaks of the 2 on the left? Florida pelicans don't have anything like that.....

26 May 2009 4:05pm

@Susan: These pelicans are the males Susan. They have these growths during mating season. The females do not have these growths. They disappear in about a month.
