Hardly a Ripple.

Posted by
Lee (Fort Frances Ontario, Canada) on 3 September 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

Some mornings are more awe inspring than others. This was one of them. To sit on a rock and watch the colour appear from the darkeness is mesmerizing. This morning there was not a breath of wind on the bay. The reflection is almost perfect. As the sun crested the horizon the colour was glowing. The sky above looked like it was already a midday colour. The clouds took on a faint hint of magenta.
The only sounds this early in the morning are from ducks slpashing as they land in the water. It is truly worth experiencing.

Thank you for visiting my site. I consider myself to be lucky living where I do. Everyday I wake up to a wealth of interesting visual scenarios. That's an absolutely wonderful shot, Lee! Hard to add anything at this #28 point... but it's worth noting that you've managed to capture some rare but unquestionably real colors in this image. Those blues and oranges are something else... and happen to be my hands-down favorite sunrise colors. Well done!... in part for being there in the first place! Thanks for sharing your terrific picture with us!!

Fantastic Lee. I much prefer sunrise to sunset, somehow it's much more peaceful.

6 Sep 2009 12:44pm

@Vinman: Thank you. I only think it's more peacful because everything is waking up. Where as at sunset everything is still active. It's only after sunset before things start to quiet down.
